The National Communication Association
The National Communication Association (NCA) is a non-profit organization of approximately 7,100 educators, practitioners, and students who work and reside in every state and more than 20 foreign countries. The Eastern Communication Association
The Eastern Communication Association (ECA) was initially established in 1910 and continues as the oldest professional communication association in the United States. As a distinguished service-oriented organization with a history of achievement in research, criticism, communication theory, and excellence in teaching, the association welcomes members who share the goals and objectives of a membership dedicated to participation in state, regional, and national activity. The International Communication Association
The International Communication Association (ICA) is an international association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of all aspects of human-mediated communication. ICA began more than 50 years ago as a small association of U.S. researchers and has matured into a truly international association with more than 3,500 members in 65 countries.
It is dedicated to promoting research in communication worldwide, utilizing its journals, conferences, awards and fellowships, and network of professional relationships. It is also committed to bringing its findings and perspectives to bear on problems and issues in society. Its members actively contribute to public debate on topics relative to its mission, whether the forum be regulatory or legislative bodies or various media venues. The New York State Communication Association
The New York State Communication Association is an organization of faculty, students, and professionals in communication who are dedicated to studying, improving, and applying the principles and practices of communication to all walks of life. Special features of NYSCA include a subscription to the scholarly journal, The Speech Communication Annual; a yearly convention of high-quality programming, including awards for outstanding student papers and the induction of outstanding researchers into the John F. Wilson scholars program; and a semi-annual newsletter. Membership is open to communication professionals from colleges/universities/community colleges, elementary and secondary schools, businesses, and industries, as well as graduate and undergraduate students.
